SOUTH BEND – No bond for a 16-year-old Mishawaka High School football player charged as an adult with murder and feticide in the death of a 17-year-old student and the baby she carried.

Aaron Trejo told a judge his family would attempt to hire an attorney as he entered a preliminary not guilty plea on Tuesday.

Court documents indicate Trejo told detectives that he and Breana Roushelang were having an argument about the baby. At first he denied killing her but later allegedly said she waited too long to tell him and could not get an abortion. He allegedly told detectives he thought about killing her for a week and then took action.

An autopsy found Roushelang died from numerous stab wounds and was strangling from a scarf tied tightly around her throat.
