LAGRANGE – LaGrange County Commissioners approved a rezoning request for a new bistro restaurant in Shipshewana on Monday.

Jeffrey and Tammy Osborn requested the rezone from U-1 to B-4 for the lot at 195 South Van Buren Street. The proposed bistro would seat 25 and include an area for cooking lessons.

County Engineer Sarah Farlow reported to commissioners the bridges being re-done near Howe and Scott should re-open in another week to ten days.

Farlow also reported the second floor of the new justice building should be poured Wednesday and the first floor is being framed.

Commissioners approved Farlow’s request to replace five doors with electric automatic A-D-A compliant doors at a cost of $24,685. The doors are at the annex building, the jail, the health department building, Dallas Lake and Maplewood Parks.
