County employees recognized in Centreville

CENTREVILLE – Several long time employees of St. Joseph County were recognized this week.

During Tuesday's meeting, the St. Joseph County Commission honored 13 individuals in different departments for their time as employees.

Recognized for ten years of employment were Betty Persons, the Commission On Aging Senior Center Coordinator; Tim Hochstetler, Building And Grounds Director and Joseph Bingaman, a Corrections Officer for the Sheriff's Department.

Anne Rohrer was honored for 15 years of employment in the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office. She retired earlier this year, after her 15th year anniversary.

Twenty year employees were Mary Ives, the Deputy Treasurer; Sherry Swartz, the Commission On Aging In Home Services Manager; Rhonda McGlothlen, Typist and Account Clerk for the Sheriff's Department, and David Alli, a Road Patrol Deputy for the Sheriff's Department.

Also honored for twenty years of employment was Dena Clark, the Chief Deputy Clerk. County Clerk Lindsay Oswald praised Clark for her service to the Department and to the residents of the County.

The 25 year employees were all from the Sheriff's Department. They include Detective Lonnie Palmer, who retired earlier this year; Michael Minger, a Corrections Officer; and Kitty Buchner, who serves as the Jail Administrator.

Sheriff Brad Balk had high praise for Buchner and all she has done during her time with the Department.

Balk was also honored for 25 years with the department.
