Wednesday, October 17, 2018

STURGIS – A proactive approach is being taken regarding the Sturgis Public School's Superintendent performance evaluation process.

The Sturgis Public School's Governance Team, made up of the Board of Education and Superintendent Art Ebert, have come up with a timeline and steps to be taken to evaluate the Superintendent.

The Governance Team set four goals for improvement: Organizational Health; Community Relations; Maximizing Instructional Time and Communication Systems.

Eleven focus areas were selected for measurement from the evaluation tool. They include: student growth, mission and vision; goals and expectations; processes and procedures; resource allocation and management; internal and external stakeholder relations and leadership development.

In February, there will be a formative evaluation which will be held in closed session. Then in June, the Board of Education will assess Ebert through consensus for his overall rating and will also provide an individual rating for each of the eleven focus areas. This will also be done in closed session, with the results being shared later with public.
