STURGIS – Sturgis Police are asking the public’s help in identifying two men who assaulted and battered an elderly man inside a Sturgis business Thursday morning.
Deputy Police Chief Ryan Banaszak said “This crime is particularly heinous when individuals take advantage of and assault an elderly person. Officers are following up on several leads and are confident they will locate the individuals responsible.”
The 70-year-old victim told police he was robbed inside the business in the 1200 block of East Chicago Road just after 6 a-m.
The victim was taken to Sturgis Hospital for trauma to his face and head.
