Inmate captured day after improper release
Thursday, October 11, 2018

ALBION – After a day on the loose, Charles Wiedman is back in the Noble County Jail.

Wiedman – who was mistakenly released from custody Tuesday – was recaptured at a Kendallville residence around 6:30 this morning.

Police received information during the early morning hours that Wiedman was inside the home on Perkins Street. Officers from several departments attempted to make contact with him there but got no response. They obtained a search warrant and made entry where they found Wiedman and another person.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department says Wiedman was held for an auto theft charge. He appeared in court on Tuesday and was granted early release but that wasn’t supposed to take place until October 25th.
