LAGRANGE – A joint session of the LaGrange County Council and Commissioners unanimously approved a grant of $67,500 from Major Moves to the LaGrange County Regional Utility District on Tuesday.

The grant will help fund a preliminary engineering report for Phase Two of the Region C sewer collection and treatment systems.

If approved and fully funded, Phase Two would include properties on North Twin Lake, South Twin Lake, Still Lake and connecting county roads.

The grant will be combined with a $7,500 donation to be made by the respective North Twin, South Twin and Still Lakes property-owner associations to provide the estimated $75,000 to complete the work to be done, pending Utility District Board approval. The preliminary engineering report would be done next Spring.

The report is needed to apply for funding from the state’s Revolving Loan Fund in 2019.
