Three of IN face weapons charges in Branch County

COLDWATER – An early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of three Indiana residents.

Michigan State Police stopped a vehicle around 2 AM Sunday that was traveling south on I-69 near East Chicago Road in Coldwater at 115 MPH. Troopers say there were three people inside, and they were all from Anderson, Indiana. The driver had a permit from Indiana to drive, but the two passengers had no identification. The female passenger was wanted out of Anderson on a felony charge.

Another trooper was helping with the traffic stop and located a loaded Ruger semi-automatic pistol in the vehicle. A check in the National Crime Information Computer showed that the gun was reported stolen from Anderson.

All three individuals refused to give any information about the stolen gun. They were all arrested for possession of stolen property and are being held in the Branch County Jail.
