Pagel seeking State Senate seat

STURGIS – Two people are seeking the Republican nomination to run for the Michigan State Senate's 21st District.

Kim LaSata and Dave Pagel are both currently serving in the Michigan House of Representatives, but have announced they are running for the State Senate seat held by John Proos, who can't run again because of term limits.

Pagel is a life long Berrien Springs resident. He is an apple farmer and the owner of Pagel Produce and Pagel Farms.

Pagel says he first got involved with public office like many do, at the local level. He served on the Berrien Springs School Board for 14 years, and helped the District through some difficult times.

After that, Pagel ran for and was elected to the Berrien County Commission where he served for four years. Pagel then was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives and has served six years as the 78th District Representative.

As he travels across the 21st Senate District, Pagel says he wants people to know that the reason he is serving is he wants to give back to not only the residents of the District, but to everyone in the State of Michigan as well.
