Eishen, Wiley named Sturgis Citizens of the Year


STURGIS – Two very familiar people have been given a special honor.

Eric Eishen and Jan Wiley have been named the 2018 Sturgis Citizens Of The Year. The naming of the Citizens Of The Year happens prior to the annual Sturgis Fest Celebration.

Wiley is a native of Illinois. After earning her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University and her Master's Degree from Western Michigan University, Wiley spent 34 years as the Sturgis High School librarian and media specialist.

She has been involved with several different organizations, including the Stugis-Wiesloch Student Exchange, the Sturgis Wind Symphony, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, and as a member of the Missions Commission of the First United Methodist Church of Sturgis.

Eishen is a graduate of Sturgis High School, Michigan State University and the University of Notre Dame. He currently is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sturgis Bank And Trust Company. He started his career at the bank in 1987 and has moved up since that time.

In addition, Eishen has devoted his time to the following organizations; the Sturgis Area Community Foundation Board; the Sturgis Improvement Association; the Sturgis Economic Development Corporation and the Sturgis Kiwanis Club, among others

Eishen and Wiley will be honored during the Sturgis Fest Kick Off Dinner on June 25.
