Man wanted in LaGrange County arrested in Noble County

ALBION – A man wanted in LaGrange County on a warrant for burglary was arrested Wednesday evening near Chain O Lakes State Park.

Trooper Richard Williams spotted 34-year-old Tony Jacobs driving southbound on State Road 9 near County Road 75 South.

Williams turned around and spotted Jacobs turning into a driveway and get out of the car. Jacobs took off running when the trooper identified himself but eventually surrendered.

Williams said Jacobs had an illegal fentanyl patch in his possession.

Jacobs was held in the Noble County Jail on charges of being a habitual traffic violator, resisting law enforcement, warrant from Noble County for operating while intoxicated, warrant from Lagrange County for burglary, and a parole violation for burglary.

38-year-old Melissa Johnson was in the car with Jacobs, and was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a Noble County warrant for operating while intoxicated.
