BRONSON TOWNSHIP – Two children are dead and another is being treated for burns following a camper fire Monday morning in Bronson Township.
The Michigan State Police and the Branch County Sheriff's Department say they were called to a residence at 1139 Hollow Road Monday morning at 10:30 for a fire in a fifth-wheel camper that was next to the house. The Bronson Fire Department arrived and extinguished the blaze.
Two children died in the fire. They were two and five years old. A third child was able to get out of the camper and was taken to the burn unit at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Local authorities, along with the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall Division, are investigating the incident. No cause for the fire has been given, and the names of the children have not been released.
