Sturgis School Board names Rob Olsen interim superintendent

STURGIS – A familiar face is coming back to help out the Sturgis School District for a short time.

During Monday's meeting, the Sturgis Board of Education unanimously approved a recommendation from the Interim Superintendent Committee to hire former Superintendent Rob Olsen to be the Interim Superintendent for a three month period.

The committee was made up of Board members Scott Boland, Kerri Millett and Gwen Donmyer. Millett explains how they came to recommend Olsen as the Interim Superintendent.

Millett says Olsen is eager to help.

The Board also voted to have the committee negotiate a contract with Olsen and bring back that recommendation during a future meeting.

Current Superintendent Tom Langdon is retiring at the end of March. The search is underway to find his replacement.
