LaGrange Marshal Richard Snyder launches bid for sheriff

LAGRANGE – LaGrange Town Marshal Rich Snyder became a candidate for sheriff Thursday afternoon.

Snyder will face incumbent Sheriff Jeff Campos in the May primary.

He said he wants to restore morale to the department.

"I'd like to change the morale. It's the lowest it's been in eight years. After talking with sheriff's deputies and employees within that department, their morale is low. I think with just starting simply with respecting that employee, you earn that respect back."

It’s the second run for Snyder, who lost to Campos in a 3-person primary four years ago.

Also filing yesterday, Print Booth is seeking the North District County Commission seat now held by Terry Martin. Martin is seeking a second term.

Noon today is the deadline for candidates to file for the May primary.
