Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in accident

PRETTY LAKE – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when an SUV backed over her on the north side of Pretty Lake Wednesday evening.

A family member took Lydia Wohlers to Parkview Noble Hospital and she was transferred to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment of a broken pelvis and ankle, and a cut to the head.

LaGrange County police say Wohlers was helping Claire Cramer of Shipshewana back out of the driveway and around another vehicle that was angle parked behind her.

Wohlers was standing between the two vehicles when Cramer’s vehicle struck the other vehicle and knocked her to the ground. Cramer’s tire came to rest on top of Wohlers.

The accident happened at 6:20 p-m.
