Crash near Middlebury injures Shipshewana teen

MIDDLEBURY – A Shipshewana teen was injured in a crash east of Middlebury on Tuesday afternoon.

16-year-old Jonathan Petersheim was treated at Parkview LaGrange Hospital for injuries to his ankle and collarbone following the 2:35 p-m crash.

Elkhart County police say Petersheim was westbound on County Road 16 when a car driven by 19-year-old Daryl Mast of Goshen failed to yield to Petersheim's vehicle.

They collided at the intersection of County Road 43.

Police cited Mast for driving while suspended and failure to yield. They cited Petersheim for a learner's permit violation.
