Sturgis woman charged with stabbing man with fork

WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP – A Sturgis woman is free on bond after she allegedly stabbed a man with a fork.

St. Joseph County District Court officials say 18 year old Emily Carpenter was released on bond following a Monday night incident in White Pigeon Township. She was arrested and charged with felonious assault after stabbing a 29 year old man in the head and neck area.

Carpenter told the Court that she was trying to get the victim to stop choking her fiance after the two men started to fight at a house in the 11,000 block of Riverside Drive.

The victim was treated at the scene for non life threatening injuries by Life Care Ambulance personnel.

Carpenter is due back in court for a pre-trial conference on October 16.
