(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Board of Education has found someone to fill a vacancy.

During a special meeting Monday, the Board of Education voted unanimously to have Ben Myers finish the term of Scott Swihart. Myers explains why he put his name in for consideration of this seat. ...... {LISTEN}.

Myers was one of seven people who submitted their names for the position, and were then interviewed by the Board's Nominating Committee of Gwen Donmyer, Emily Halling and Kerri Millett. The Committee said they were thrilled with the number of applicants.

Myers says he did look at what the Board's been doing and what's coming up

Myers will finish the remainder of Swihart's term, which runs until December 31, 2022.
