Driver Arrested During Traffic Stop

(STURGIS) – The driver of a vehicle was arrested following a traffic stop on the north side of Sturgis.

According to the Sturgis Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop at 1 AM on December 29 in the 600 block of Wilshire Drive. During the stop, officers became increasingly suspicious of the driver, and received consent to search the vehicle, where they discovered several different types of
narcotics.

The driver, a 42 year old woman, was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of cocaine, operating a vehicle with no insurance and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

The driver also had multiple outstanding arrest warrants out of Branch County.

She is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.
