CTA Offering Free New Years' Eve Rides

(THREE RIVERS) – A transportation organization is once again going to be offering free rides on New Year's Eve.

After not operating in 2020, the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority will offer in 2021 their Free Ride Program for New Year's Eve. This is open to anyone who needs a ride from their home to a location or from a location to their home. There will not be any rides from one party to another, and the rides will only be given in St. Joseph County.

CTA Executive Director Allen Balog says they didn't offer rides in 2020, but wanted to bring the program back this year. ...... {LISTEN}.

The cost to provide this service, which will run from 8 PM Friday night until 2 AM Saturday, is approximately $800. Balog says they are looking for sponsors to help with the cost. ...... {LISTEN}.

If a business or individual would like to be a sponsor, you can call the CTA office at 269-273-7808. Riders can make a donation when they are picked up or dropped off.

Each bus will have a driver and a CTA employee to help out.

For those who live in Sturgis, White Pigeon, Colon and Burr Oak and want a ride, you can call 269-244-0766. Anyone who lives in Three Rivers, Mendon, Constantine and Centreville, you can call 269-244-0946. Advance registration is not necessary.
