NE Indiana Unemployment Rates Down In November

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Jobless rates dropped around Northeast Indiana from October to November.

Information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows the largest drop in the area was in Noble County, going from 2.4 to 1.9 percent.

LaGrange County had the lowest unemployment rate in the area. They dropped from 1.5 to 1.2 percent. The 1.2 percent unemployment rate ties LaGrange County with Union County for the lowest rate in the State.

Elkhart County dropped from 1.8 to 1.4 percent. DeKalb County dropped from 1.9 to 1.5 percent and Steuben County saw a decrease from 1.8 to 1.5 percent.

Those were all lower than the State rate for November, which was at 2.1 percent. That's down from an October rate of 2.5 percent. Nationally, the jobless rate for November was 3.9 percent.
