(UNDATED) – Three Rivers Middle School wasn't the only school in the area to receive an alleged threat last week.

Officials say on Tuesday, Lakeland Jr./Sr. High School investigated a threat that was made on social media. Families were notified that Lakeland officials and local law enforcement believed the threat was made against the Lakeland School District in Michigan. To be safe, some extra precautions were taken on Wednesday, and nothing happened.

Colon Community Schools also reported they had a lockdown on Thursday, due to a threat on social media.

School officials posted on the District's website that the Colon Police, St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police conducted an investigation regarding the threat, which was deemed to not be valid.

The message from the District also thanked the parents and community for staying calm and supportive during this situation.
