(SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP) – Michigan State Police are investigating the theft of a boat engine from Branch County's Sherwood Township.

Troopers say the theft happened sometime during the night time hours of August 7 from a residence on Union Lake. It's believed the suspects came up to the boat from another vessel on the lake.

The engine is a 2005 Honda 4 stroke and is silver in color.
