Three Rivers' Taylor Named Scholar Athlete

(EAST LANSING) – A Three Rivers High School senior has been named a Scholar-Athlete.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has selected eight student-athletes from Class B member schools to receive scholarships through their Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award Program. Being named a Class B Scholar-Athlete is Illyanna Taylor of Three Rivers.

Taylor has played two years of varsity basketball, 3 years of varsity golf and will compete in her fourth year of both varsity soccer and varsity track & field. She has earned all league recognition in golf, and academic All State in golf and soccer. Taylor helped the girls basketball team to a District Title in 2020 and was captain of the basketball and soccer teams.

In addition, Taylor is participating in her fourth year of student council and has served as both Council President and Vice President, along with being Class President. She is also participating in her third year of DECA and the National Honor Society, serving as chapter president of both.

Taylor is also in her fourth year of marching and symphony bands and has
sang three years in the choir.

Taylor is undecided where she will go to college, but will study pre-med.

She, and all of the Scholar-Athlete award winners will receive $1,000 scholarships from Farm Bureau Insurance.
