(AUBURN) – An Auburn man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a child.

The Indiana State Police say in October 2020, they were contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services Auburn Office and the Auburn Police Department to investigate an alleged complaint of sexual misconduct with a minor. The initial information alleged that 30 year old Clint Hess of Auburn had been engaging in sex acts with a 14 year old girl.

A five month investigation ended last week, and ISP officers turned over the information to the DeKalb County Prosecutor's Office for review and determination of charges.

Early Wednesday morning, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Hess. Wednesday afternoon, Hess was arrested at his Auburn home on felony charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.

Hess is being held in the DeKalb County Jail until his initial court appearance.

The Indiana State Police was assisted in their investigation by the Auburn Department of Child Services, the Auburn Police Department and the Dr. Bill Lewis Center for Child Advocacy.
