(NOTTAWA TOWNSHIP) – An individual was arrested on several charges following an incident at a trailer park.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his deputies were sent Tuesday to a trailer park in Nottawa Township on a report of shots being fired. The suspect tried to break into an occupied residence and fired off a shot before running away from the scene.

Deputies later received a report of the subject entering a burned up residence located in the 27,000 block of Findley Road. He was believed to be armed.

The St. Joseph County Special Response Team was activated and responded. After a short amount of time, officers entered the residence and found the suspect and took him into custody.

He was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail and is being held on multiple charges.
