Branch County Voters Decide Governmental Races

(UNDATED) – Several governmental races were decided in Branch County during Tuesday's election.

There was a partial term seat on the Coldwater City Council in the Second Ward. Incumbent Chad Johnson defeated William Goodman Jr. 420-406. That term will expire in November 2023.

In Bronson, there will be a new face on the City Council. Incumbents Larry McConn (419) and Rick Johannes (327) were both re-elected to four year terms on the Council. Joining them will be new comer William Rinehart (472) for a four year term as well.

Candidate William Earl received 304 votes.

In the race for the 58th District seat in the Michigan House Of Representatives, Republican candidate Andrew Fink defeated Tamara Barns 30,208 to 12,210.

On the Coldwater School Board, incumbent Kathryn Fredrick defeated Kristin Lyon-Welch 3,769 to 3,348 for a partial term that will end December 2024.

Being re-elected to 6 year terms on the Board were Dr. Edward Lake (5,787), Clair Dean (5,153) and Jeffrey Holbrook (5,093).

Seven individuals were running for three seats on the Bronson Board of Education. Winning a six year term each were Tyson Franks (1,204), Bob Cary (1,132) and incumbent Mike Roberts (993).
