New And Familiar Names Elected To School Boards

(UNDATED) – Some new names and some familiar ones were elected to positions on various school boards around LaGrange County.

There were three positions available on the Lakeland School Board. Incumbent Sue Keenan was re-elected with 3,214 votes. Derrick Sherck was elected to a seat on the board with 3,203 votes. In the race for the third seat, Jessica Holbrook defeated Chelsea Powers 1,939 to 1,452.

There were also three seats available on the Prairie Heights School Board. Michael Howe ran unopposed and was re-elected to the Springfield Township seat with 3,021 votes.

In the race for the Jackson Township seat, former Board member Aaron Pfafman defeated incumbent Robert Ledgerwood 1,807 to 1,623. In the race for the Salem Township position, Heather Culler beat Jill Engel-Walworth 2,703 to 770.

The Westview School Board had three positions available in the election, and all three incumbents were re-elected. The only contested race was for the Eden Township seat, where incumbent James Miller beat Tim Helmuth 1,556 to 1,194. Carrie Schrock was re-elected to the Clay Township seat with 1,866 votes and David Mehas received 1,645 votes and was re-elected to the Clearspring Township seat.
