(CENTREVILLE) – St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough was back in court on Thursday.

St. Joseph County District Court officials say McDonough was arraigned on charges of violating his bond conditions that were issued following his arrest in May for drunk driving. Under the conditions of the bond, McDonough is not allowed to purchase, consume or possess intoxicants or controlled substances. He is also not allowed to visit a retailer whose primary business is selling alcohol.

McDonough turned himself into authorities Monday, after an arrest warrant was issued due to the bond violations. He was issued a $500 road side bond and released. However court authorities say McDonough was placed in the St. Joseph County Jail on Tuesday for failing an alcohol test. He was released Wednesday after posting a $5,000 bond.

An investigation by Three Rivers Police determined that McDonough had purchased alcohol on several occasions from a Three Rivers store.

According to WWMT, McDonough's attorney Michael Hill said his client is in intensive outpatient therapy three times a week for three hours each time. He is also in individual counseling twice a week and is working on a 12 step counseling program multiple times a week.

McDonough is scheduled to have a bond violation hearing September 29. His trial on the drunk driving charges from the May 11 incident in Lockport Township is scheduled to begin November 24.
