By: Mike Stiles - Saturday, September 5, 2020

(LANSING) – Road work in the western portion of St. Joseph County will get underway September 8.

Nick Schirripa with the Michigan Department of Transportation says crews will begin resurfacing a portion of U.S. 12 from the St. Joseph River to U.S. 131 in White Pigeon, along with M-103 south of U.S. 12 in Mottville.

The projects, which will cost $1.2 million, will include hot mix asphalt, cold milling and resurfacing along with resurfacing and pavement markings. The projects will improve safety and ride quality for motorists and extend the life of the roadways.

Single-lane closures with traffic regulators will be in effect. The projects should be finished by September 30.
