(STURGIS) – Sturgis Electric customers will be seeing a savings starting later this year.

During last week's meeting, the Sturgis City Commission was presented with the electric rates. A study was done and showed that electric customers would be saving on their electric bills, according to Chris Lund with Utility Financial Solutions. ...... {LISTEN}.

The range of savings would be anywhere from 4.3 to 9.2 percent across the rate spectrum.

Lund says because of a new power supply structure, the City is anticipating paying less for their power, and will be passing those savings along to their customers.

The Commission approved the rates by a unanimous vote. The rates will go into effect on October 1.
