(FLORENCE TOWNSHIP) – A 27 year old Constantine man was arrested after leading police on a high speed chase.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says just after 12 AM on August 27, his department attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation on Mintdale Road near Lutz Road. The vehicle refused to stop and lead officers on a pursuit, with speeds reaching 100 MPH.

The chase ended near Engle and Mintdale Roads when the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed into a ditch.

The driver was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on several charges, including fleeing and eluding; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of meth; possession of burglary tools; possession of a police scanner while committing a felony; felon in possession of ammunition; along with several outstanding arrest warrants.
