(GOSHEN) – The Goshen Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting.

At 5:10 PM Saturday, officers were dispatched to Goshen General Hospital in response to a subject with a gunshot wound. A 22 year old Elkhart man was brought to the hospital after being shot in the back. The wound was not life threatening, and the man was treated and released.

Officers later learned the incident happened in the 1400 block of South 16th Street in Goshen.

Investigators say the suspect in the shooting is unknown, and there doesn't appear to be any threat to the neighborhood. The matter is still under investigation.
