Classes Start Today For Sturgis Public Schools

(STURGIS) – Classes are starting today for Sturgis Public Schools students.

It's been over 160 days since Sturgis students have been in a classroom. For the 2020-2021 school year, students will have the option of being in class, or taking classes on line.

Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says parents will still have time to change which option they have for their child or children's learning experience. ...... {LISTEN}.

Sturgis teacher Tracie Pueschel says she is glad the school year is getting started, because it's important for students to be around their friends, and for teachers to be with their colleagues. ...... {LISTEN}.

Ebert says the school district has installed safety features, including hands free soap dispensers and flushing units in the bathroom. He says this was done by the District and not ordered by the State of Michigan.
