(UNDATED) – The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office arrested two people on outstanding warrants and other charges in two different incidents.

At 10 PM Thursday, deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant at 4325 North 250 East in Howe on 38 year old Justin Gayheart. During the course of their investigation, officers realized that a man they had talked to and denied being Justin Gayheart, was indeed Gayheart.

He was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and now faces additional charges for identity deception. Gayheart is being held in the LaGrange County Jail, and the matter has been forwarded to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's Office for review.

At 11:16 Thursday night, deputies were conducting a traffic stop in the area of 4000 South State Road 5, and located marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle. The investigation revealed a female passenger lied about her identity, and deputies determined that she was 30 year old Krystal Short of Ligonier.

Further investigation determined Short was wanted on several outstanding warrants. She was arrested on those charges, and additionally charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and identity deception. She also has an active warrant out of Noble County.

Short was also taken to the LaGrange County Jail and the case has been sent to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's Office.
