(MONGO) – A Northeast Indiana organization is doing their part to help those who need food.

The Mongo United Methodist Food Pantry will be open for distribution today from 4 until 6 PM. There is no paperwork to fill out. Those in need simply have to drive up and pick up a food box and a perishable bag.

Volunteers will be on hand to supervise and provide assistance if needed. If someone is ill, they are asked to stay home and send someone in their place to pick up the food.

The food pantry team will continue to practice the 6 foot social distancing from others, along with taking other precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible.

This week's food boxes feature chicken, apples, grapefruit, corn on the cob, spaghetti sauce, eggs, cereal, pasta and more.

The next food pantry pick up will be August 20.
