Branch County Voters Select State House Candidates In Primary

(COLDWATER) – Branch County residents spoke during Tuesday's Primary Election on who they want to run for a State office.

In the Republican Primary for the chance to run for the 58th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives, Andrew Fink won the race with 3,386 votes. Andy Welden was second with 1,427 votes while Daren Wiseley was third, receiving 1,378 votes. Adam Stockford finished fourth with 763 votes.

Fink will face off against Democratic candidate Tamara C. Barnes, who won her party's Primary with 1,324 votes. She defeated Steven Sowards, who received 205 votes.

The 58th District in the Michigan House of Representatives is made up of Branch and Hillsdale Counties.

Incumbent State Representative Eric Leutheuser has served three terms in Lansing and can't run against because of term limits.
