St. Joseph County Ballot Proposals Pass

(CENTREVILLE) – Voters in St. Joseph County approved four ballot proposals during Tuesday's Primary Election.

Voters in White Pigeon Township approved a millage renewal for the White Pigeon Township Library 529-243. The renewal was asking for one-third of a mill from 2020 through 2023 for the operation of the library.

Nottawa Township residents approved a millage to fund their township library 463-342. The millage will run from 2020 until 2029 and will ask for 1.61351 mills.

Another ballot proposal was the renewal of the ambulance and fire protection millage for Leonidas Township, which passed 132-77. It was asking for a millage to be levied from 2020 to 2023 and not to exceed 1.7 mills to operate and maintain fire and ambulance service for the township.

Some voters in St. Joseph County cast ballots on the Marcellus Community Schools operating millage renewal proposal. The request past overall 583-337. It was asking to continue levying 19.348 mills from 2021 to 2025 to provide funds for operating purposes in the Marcellus School District.
