(UNDATED) – One of the candidate for the Republican nomination for the 59th District Seat in the Michigan House of Representatives has received an endorsement.

Larry Walton has received the “Friend Of Agriculture” designation from AgriPac, which is Michigan Farm Bureau's political action committee.

Walton says it's an honor to receive the endorsement from AgriPac. As a member of the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau, Walton says this recognition is one not taken lightly. He says if elected he will work tirelessly for not only those involved in agriculture, but all the residents of St. Joseph and Cass Counties.

Walton lives near Nottawa where he farms 500 acres of row crops with his wife and daughters. He has been involved in many groups within and beyond his community for most of his life. That includes the Centreville FFA while in high school, the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners along with a vast number of committees with the Michigan Farm Bureau, including its Board of Directors.

Growing up on the farm, Walton says he learned at an early age the value of a common sense, practical approach which has been applied in many leadership roles. As a legislator, Walton says he pledges to go to work for the residents of the 59th District.
