Health Officials Say 51 New Cases Of Coronavirus In NE Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – There were 51 new cases of coronavirus in Northeast Indiana as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Indiana State Department of Health says there were 7 new cases in LaGrange County, which means 456 people have the virus and 6 people have died.

Noble County has 3 new cases, bringing the number of people with COVID-19 to 434. There have also been 28 individuals who have died. Steuben County is reporting 2 new cases. That means 123 people who have tested positive for the virus and 2 people who have died.

DeKalb County has 1 new case of coronavirus. 157 people have tested positive for the virus and there have been 4 deaths. Elkhart County had another death from COVID-19, making 43 people who have died. There were 38 new cases, which brings the total number of people that tested positive to 3,041.

Statewide in Indiana, 385 more cases of COVID-19 were detected. There are now 45,594 individuals who have the virus. There were also 16more deaths, which means 2,448 Hoosiers who have died from COVID-19.

The State Department of Health says 484,196 people have been tested for coronavirus with 9.4 percent of the tests coming back as positive.
