28 New COVID-19 Cases In Southwest Michigan

(UNDATED) – There were 28 new cases of COVID-19 in Southern Michigan as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says 19 new cases were detected in St. Joseph County. That means 239 people have tested positive and there have been 3 deaths in the county.

In Branch County, there were 5 new cases of COVID-19. 241 residents have the virus and there have been 2 deaths. There were 4 new cases of coronavirus in Hillsdale County. 177 people have tested positive for it and there have been 25 deaths.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. That makes 39 staff members and 793 inmates who have tested positive. There have also been 23 inmate deaths.

In Cass County, there were no new cases of COVID-19. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there are now 113 people who have been diagnosed with the virus, and there have been 4 deaths in Cass County.

Around Michigan, 323 new coronavirus cases were reported, making 61,953 people who have tested positive. There were 4 more deaths reported, which means 5,868 individuals have died from COVID-19.
