Southern Michigan Has 13 New Cases Of COVID-19

(UNDATED) – There have been 13 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Southern Michigan as of Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, there were 10 new cases of coronavirus in St. Joseph County. That makes 186 people who have tested positive and there have been 3 deaths in the county.

In Branch County, there were 23 new cases of COVID-19 detected. To date, 223 people have the virus, and there have been 2 deaths. There were no new cases of coronavirus in Hillsdale County. 171 people have tested positive for it and there have been 25 deaths.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says no new cases were reported at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. So far, there are 793 inmates and 34 staff members with the coronavirus. There have been 23 inmate deaths at the facility.

In Cass County, there was 1 new case of COVID-19, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. That makes 103 people who have been diagnosed with the virus, and there have been 4 deaths in Cass County.

Around Michigan, 125 new coronavirus cases were reported, making 60,189 people who have tested positive. There were also 18 more deaths reported, which means 5,790 individuals have died from COVID-19.
