Stewart Ready To Go As Sturgis Football Coach

(STURGIS) – Newly hired Sturgis varsity football coach Chance Stewart is ready to get going.

Sturgis Athletic Director Mark Adams announced Thursday the hiring of Stewart as the new Trojan varsity football coach. Stewart graduated from Sturgis High School in 2014 and from Hillsdale College in 2019. He spent last season as a varsity assistant coach for Sturgis.

Many people might think that having little coaching experience would be an issue for the first year head coach. During an interview with WBET, Stewart says his playing experience can help him in his role as head coach. ...... {LISTEN}.

Stewart says his immediate priorities will be getting a workout schedule together for next week and hiring a coaching staff. Sturgis opens the varsity football season August 27 against Vicksburg.
