(CALVIN TOWNSHIP) – A one vehicle crash sent a Vandalia man to the hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department was called to Calvin Center Road near Williamsville Street in Calvin Township just after 9 AM Friday. Deputies say 66 year old Tyrone Muscat had set his cruise control and looked up to realize he was going towards a telephone pole. The vehicle left the road, struck the telephone pole and traveled one hundred feet before coming to a stop.

Muscat was removed from the automobile by rescue personnel and taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Muscat was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation.
