NE Indiana Has 125 New Cases Of Coronavirus

(INDIANAPOLIS) – As of Friday afternoon, there were 125 new cases of coronavirus in Northeast Indiana.

LaGrange County has 12 of the new cases, according to the Indiana State Department of Health. There are currently 128 residents with the virus and 2 people who have died.

In Noble County, 10 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. That makes 278 cases and 21 people who have lost their battle with the virus. Steuben County has 2 new cases, which means 90 people have tested positive and 2 people have died in the county.

DeKalb County is reporting 1 new case of coronavirus. There are now 45 citizens with the virus and 1 person who has died. In Elkhart County 90 new COVID-19 cases have been detected. That makes 1,585 people have the coronavirus and 28 people have died from it.

Across the state, 533 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. That makes 36,578 people who have tested positive for the virus. There were another 27 people who died from coronavirus. To date, that brings the total number of Hoosiers who have died to 2,078.

The State Department of Health says from Thursday to Friday 6,540 COVID-19 tests were given. That makes 291,638 people who have been tested, and 12.5 percent of the tests have come back as positive.
