Whitmer Reopens More Michigan Regions

(LANSING) – More Michigan regions will be reopening, allowing businesses that have been closed to get their doors open.

On the heels of the lifting of the Safer At Home Executive Order, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Friday morning that she has signed two more Executive Orders designed to get Michigan's economy going again.

Whitmer says Executive Orders 2020-114 and 2020-115 will go into effect next week. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Executive Orders will also allow for indoor gatherings of up to 50 people and outdoor gatherings to have up to 250 individuals. Outdoor sports and performance venues can have up to 500 people.

This is all subject to safety protocols and procedures designed to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Then on June 15, Whitmer says other regions in Michigan will be able to see businesses open up. ...... {LISTEN}.

Whitmer says she has issued an updated rule laying out new workplace safeguards for these businesses. She says the safeguards will ensure that workers and patrons remain protected as the state moves to reopen.
