(PORTER TOWNSHIP) – A Jones teenager was injured in a single vehicle crash in Cass County's Porter Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says his department was called to U.S. 12 east of South River Road at 2:22 Wednesday afternoon. Deputies arrived and found a vehicle that had struck a tree on the south side of the road.

The driver, 17 year old Justin Rose, was in the vehicle and was removed by deputies and the Porter Township Fire and Ambulance Company. Rose told officers that he lost control of his auto because of a bee that was trying to sting him.

Rose was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
