Southern Michigan Has Four New COVID-19 Cases

(UNDATED) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there are four new cases of COVID-19 in Southern Michigan as of Tuesday.

Authorities say there are 3 new cases in St. Joseph County. That makes 90 cases total in the county along with 1 death.

Branch County has no new cases, keeping their total at 95 individuals with the coronavirus and 2 people who have died. Hillsdale County actually has one less case, giving them 165 residents who have tested positive. They also have 24 people who have died.

Cass County has 1 new case of COVID-19. 61 people now in the county have contracted the coronavirus. There have also been 2 people in Cass County who have died from the virus.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says another inmate at the Lakeland Correctional Facility has died from the coronavirus. 22 inmates have now passed away. 793 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

Across Michigan, 435 new cases of coronavirus have been detected, bringing the total number of people infected to 52,350. There were also 102 more people who have died. That makes 5,017 Michiganders who have lost their battle with COVID-19.
