COVID-19 Cases Continue Increasing In Michigan

(COLDWATER) – More cases of COVID-19 were detected Monday around Michigan.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported as of Monday afternoon, there were four more cases of coronavirus in St. Joseph County. That brings the total in the county to 14.

Branch County has two more cases, which brings the total to 15. In addition, there was another case at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, which now has 31 cases at the prison.

Cass County has 7 cases, Hillsdale County has two more cases, giving them 46 and three fatalities. Kalamazoo County has 5 new cases and now totals 58 along with 3 deaths. Calhoun County has 41 cases, which is one less than was reported on Sunday, and 1 death.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the statewide number of COVID-19 cases is now 17,721. That's an increase of 2,003 from Sunday's released figures. The number of deaths were also up 110 to 727.

The CHA reminds everyone to continue practicing social distancing as a way to help slow down the spread of COVID-19. Also, please wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water; and disinfect commonly touched surfaces.
