COLDWATER – The Branch County Courthouse is going to be closed to the public until April 6.

On Tuesday, Branch County Administrator Bud Norman made the announcement of the closing, which went into effect at the end of the business day Tuesday. All County employees will report to work as normal, and will continue to provide help and assistance to the public via e-mail and telephone. Citizens can also go on line to the County's website at county of branch dot com.

This change was started after recommendations from the Community Health Agency as a way to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The Branch County courts announced that all jury trials have been adjourned, plus the March jury panels for District Court, Circuit Court and Probate Court have been dismissed and will not have to report.

Jurors for April court cases can get updated information about their service by calling 517-279-4323, or going to the County Clerk's page on the County's website.
